Your odds just got better - Tramplin's reward distribution is changing

Tramplin was born from a simple idea: staking on @solana should be more than passive yield. It should be exciting and feel meaningful.

Most importantly, it should give everyone a chance, not just the biggest wallets.

That's why we built a reward system with draws. Stake your SOL, and you're automatically entered into regular prize drawings. As simple as that. But as we grew, we noticed something that didn't sit right with us. Let us explain:

The problem we saw

Under our original mechanics, your odds of winning were tied directly to how much you staked. On paper, that sounds fair, and at the beginning, it worked. But in practice, it meant that a handful of whales were winning almost everything.

A staker with 5,000 SOL had 5,000 times the chance of winning compared to someone with 1 SOL. The math was technically correct, but the outcome wasn't what we wanted.

Small stakers were showing up, participating, believing in the protocol, but rarely seeing a win.

We heard this from our community loud and clear. And they were right - that's not the system we set out to build.

So we went back to the drawing board. The question was "how do we make sure everyone has a real shot, while still making it worthwhile to stake more and be active in the community?"

Here's exactly what we changed and why.

What's changing?

The core update: we're rebalancing the reward pool so that every staker - regardless of size - has a real chance of winning.

Three big shifts:

  1. Regular Draw moves from linear weighting to equal chance per staker.
  2. Big Draw replaces linear weighting with a compressed √stake formula, reducing whale advantage from 5,000× down to ~70×.
  3. A brand-new Epoch Draw takes 50% of the pool and picks 7 winners every epoch using linear weighting based on effective stake.
The budget that moves away from Regular Draw flows directly into the new Epoch Draw - a mechanic designed to create more winners per epoch.

Reward Pool Allocation

The total distributable reward pool is now split across three mechanisms instead of two:

Regular Draw - Equal Odds for Everyone

The most frequent draw. Multiple rounds every epoch, each picking 1 winner:
The biggest change here is the selection formula. Under the old system, your chance of winning was directly proportional to your stake size. A whale staking 5,000 SOL had 5,000× the odds of someone staking 1 SOL. Small stakers had near-zero chances of ever winning a Regular Draw.

OLD FORMULA

  • P(win) = your_stake / total_stake A 5,000 SOL whale had 5,000× the odds of a 1 SOL staker.

NEW FORMULA

  • P(win) = 1 / N(stakers) Every staker has an identical chance. Flat odds.
Now a staker with 5 SOL has the exact same chance of winning as someone staking 50,000. Every staker, one ticket. The Regular Draw is the most frequent draw we run, and it's now fully accessible to everyone.

With fewer draws per epoch (144 vs. 288) but equal-chance selection, each individual prize is slightly larger. The reduced pool share (30% vs. 80%) is offset by the new Epoch Draw, which absorbs the difference and provides bigger upside.

Big Draw - Square Root Replaces Linear

The jackpot. Fires once every 15 epochs. The pool reserves 20% each epoch and accumulates it into a single massive prize for one winner.

The structure stays the same - 20% pool share, 15-epoch cycle, 1 winner. What changes is how that winner is selected.

OLD FORMULA - LINEAR

  • weight = stake 5,000 SOL = 5,000× the weight of 1 SOL. Whales dominated.

NEW FORMULA - SQUARE ROOT

  • weight = √(stake) × 10 Whale advantage drops from 5,000× to ~70×.
Under the old system, a whale with 5,000 SOL had a 5,000× advantage. The square root formula compresses the curve dramatically.

Going from 1 to 4 SOL doubles your weight (√1 = 1, √4 = 2). But going from 100 to 400 SOL also only doubles your weight (√100 = 10, √400 = 20).

Larger stakers still have higher weight, but the gap shrinks as stakes get bigger.
Look at the difference: under the old system, 5,000 SOL meant 5,000× the odds. Now it's ~70×. The playing field has compressed dramatically. A small staker is no longer competing against an insurmountable wall.

Epoch Draw - The new mechanic

This is the headline addition. A completely new draw that runs every epoch, picks 7 unique winners, and receives the largest share of the reward pool at 50%.Parameters:

  • Pool share: 50%
  • Winners per epoch: 7 (unique - each winner selected only once per draw)
  • Selection formula: linear, based on effective stake (1 effective SOL = 1 chance)

Prize distribution by rank

The 7 winners don't split equally - it's a top-heavy distribution where 1st place takes the lion's share:
Your selection weight in the Epoch Draw is based on your effective stake - your raw SOL plus the boost from Tramplin Points you've earned through referrals. Active community members who bring in new stakers grow their odds without needing to add more SOL.
With 7 winners every epoch and the largest pool allocation of any draw type, small stakers now have a real shot at landing on the board - something that was nearly impossible under the old system where a single draw type consumed 80% of rewards. Even 7th place gets a meaningful payout.

What this means for you

  • Small stakers (1–50 SOL)

You now have a real chance of winning - in every draw, every epoch. Regular Draw gives you the same odds as any whale. In Big Draw, whale advantage has been compressed from thousands of times down to ~70×. The new Epoch Draw picks 7 winners every epoch from 50% of the pool, massively increasing prize opportunities. And your effective stake grows over time as you earn Tramplin Points through referrals - so your odds keep improving the longer you stay active.

  • Mid-size stakers (50–500 SOL)

You're in the sweet spot. Your √stake weight gives you a solid edge in Big Draw, and in Regular Draw you're on equal footing with everyone. The Epoch Draw rewards you proportionally through effective stake, and as that grows - through additional staking or through referral points - your odds grow with you.

  • Large stakers (500+ SOL)

Your advantage is compressed in Big Draw, and you have equal odds in Regular Draw. You can't dominate prizes the way you could under linear weighting - but you still have a high chance of winning and a fairer system drives broader participation, which grows the total pool and the total prize budget. The pie gets bigger for everyone.

The bottom line

More draws. More winners. Fairer odds.

The reward pool now works for the entire staker community - not just the top 1%. Whale advantage is compressed. Small stakers have equal odds in the most frequent draw and competitive odds everywhere else. And a brand-new Epoch Draw picks 7 winners from the biggest slice of the pool, every single epoch.

Stake what you have. Earn points. Stay active. Every staker now has a real shot - and your odds only get better the longer you're part of the community.* The Regular Draw and Big Draw updates are live today. The new Epoch Draw will go live within the next few epochs.
