How Tramplin Uses Solana’s Slot System for Reward Distribution
On Tramplin, you can be sure of when the next reward is distributed, down to the millisecond. But how is this possible?
If you are already staking on Tramplin, you're familiar with our rewards distribution system: every 10 minutes, one randomly selected staker get a small share of the staking rewards.
Few know that this timing is connected to Solana's internal "clock", also known as slots. Let us explain.
What is a slot and how does it work?
A slot in the Solana ecosystem is a fixed time interval, currently set to 400 milliseconds, during which a validator can produce a block. Each slot is assigned to a specific validator, and slots occur sequentially, contributing to the network's overall efficiency.
To measure the time between distributions on the platform, Tramplin uses a slot system: each slot is 400 milliseconds, and a distribution occurs every 1,500 slots.
That amounts to the 10-minute timeframe you're used to - but with much higher precision.
Why does this matter?
Most staking platforms distribute rewards on a daily or weekly schedule and rarely tell you exactly when. Tramplin's slot-based system means you never have to guess.Because our distribution model is tied directly to Solana's blockchain clock rather than an internal timer, it is immune to server delays, downtime, or human error. The 1,500-slot cycle runs exactly as the network does: transparent, verifiable, and predictable to the millisecond.
For you as a staker, this means full visibility into when your next potential reward window opens. No waiting on a black box. Just a system that works the same way every time.
What this looks like in practice?
If you stake at least 1 SOL on Tramplin, you'll see it yourself: winners are selected every 10 minutes, like clockwork. That cadence isn't an internal timer we set and hope runs correctly; it's the 1,500-slot cycle executing directly on Solana's blockchain clock.

When the cycle completes, the smart contract runs automatically. A winner is selected, reward is being distributed, and it's done.
That's not some feature we added on top. It's how the system was designed from the start, because predictability is a n essential trust mechanism.
When anyone can verify the timing independently by reading Solana's slot counter, there's no room for "random" guesses.
